Buckingham Township’s dedication to public safety has taken a significant step forward with the announcement of a $170,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
The grant was formally presented on April 14th by State Senator Steve Santarsiero and State Representative Tim Brennan to the Buckingham Township Board of Supervisors and the Buckingham Township Police Department.
Police Chief David Scirrotto, along with his team, expressed their commitment to leveraging this funding to expand the department’s use of cutting-edge technology, including the purchase of Axon body-worn camera systems. The initiative is part of a broader strategy that includes enhanced officer training and new community policing programs.
This funding marks a decisive step toward transforming Buckingham Police Department through innovation, accountability, and a stronger, more connected relationship with the community.
