Buckingham Township has declared a SNOW EMERGENCY effective 1/24/26 at 7PM.
Forecasts are showing snow accumulations of 12-14 inches.
Snow could mix with or change to sleet and freezing rain, contributing to hazardous driving conditions. There is increasing confidence in ice accumulations. Ice accumulations around 0.10" are possible, which combined with heavy snow could increase the risk of tree damage and isolated power outages.
Power outages may occur during this storm. Residents should prepare for possible power outages. Report power outages to PECO via the PECO app or call 1-800-841-4141. Never approach or touch downed power lines.
A prolonged period of dangerous cold could result in hypothermia if outside for long stretches. Impacts to infrastructure are possible.
Buckingham Township Snow Removal Ordinance 2003-07 prohibits “street parking is prohibited during a winter storm or during the 12-hour period following the cessation of precipitation or any other period when snow removal or plowing is being conducted.” All vehicles MUST be removed from Township roads. Please do not blow or shovel snow onto Township roads. Also, make sure fire hydrants near your home are cleared of snow.
Be sure your mobile devices and portable chargers are fully charged. Make sure you are stocked with batteries, a flashlight, and a portable radio.
Travel will be extremely hazardous during the storm. Please allow our public works crews and emergency responders to do their jobs safely and efficiently by limiting all non-essential travel during the storm.
Dangerous cold and heavy snow are expected. Complete preparations early, limit travel during the storm, and check on neighbors who may need assistance.
